Fatherhood Week 2004

      " ...A Proclamation for the State-wide observance of "Fatherhood Week" was enacted (for the fourth year in a row) by the Office of Governor Doyle of the State of Wisconsin in May of 2004.  The idea for that observance was first originated by, written by, and proposed to (then) Governor McCallum in 2001 - by Wisconsin resident, Robert C. Kuhmann of Walworth County... a devoted advocate whose work favors the Rights of children, parents, and Grandparents -- everywhere."

      A Proclamation

      "Wisconsin State Fatherhood Week"
      (An observance to all citizens - June 14 -20 2004)
       
      WHEREAS:    Fathers play a unique role in the lives of our children, and provide the foundation for the healthy and social development of our families; and
      WHEREAS: Healthy and socially developed children and families are vital to the interest and future of Wisconsin; and
      WHEREAS: It is important to give appropriate recognition to fathers for the unique and valuable role that they play in the day-to-day lives of children, families and society; and
      WHEREAS: It is appropriate to honor all fathers, both past and present on Fathers Day, and encourage future fathers to be mindful of the importance of their role in society.
      NOW,  
      THEREFORE, I, Jim Doyle, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, hereby proclaim June 14-20, 2004  to be:

      FATHERHOOD WEEK

      in Wisconsin and encourage all citizens to join in this observance.
