Fatherhood Week 2001

      " ...A Proclamation for the State-wide observance of "Fatherhood Week" was enacted by the Office of the Governor of the State of Wisconsin on the 12th of June 2001.  The idea for that observance was originated by, written by, and proposed to Governor McCallum - by Wisconsin resident, Robert C. Kuhmann."

      A Proclamation

      "Wisconsin State Fatherhood Week"
      (An observance to all citizens - June 18-22 2001)

       
      WHEREAS:    Fathers play a unique role in the lives of our children, and provide the foundation for the healthy and social development of our families; and
      WHEREAS: Healthy and socially developed children and families are vital to the interest and future of Wisconsin; and
      WHEREAS: It is important to give appropriate recognition to fathers for the unique and valuable role that they play in the day-to-day lives of children, families and society; and
      WHEREAS: It is appropriate to honor all fathers, both past and present on Fathers Day, and encourage future fathers to be mindful of the importance of their role in society.
      NOW,  
      THEREFORE, I, Scott McCallum, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, hereby proclaim June 18-22, 2001 to be:

      FATHERHOOD WEEK

      in Wisconsin and encourage all citizens to join in this observance.

       
      IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereunto set my hand and cause the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin to be affixed. Done at the Capitol in the City of Madison this twelfth day of June in the year two thousand one.
